FOOTSTAR ** ARCIUOLO'S SHOES

In the early 1920s Frank Arciuolo and his wife Nancy and their two children arrived to the United States from Italy. The family opened Arciulo's Shoe Store on Naugatuck Avenue, near the Walnut Beach School. After the death of Frank in 1927 the business was run by Nancy and her son Matthew for many years. This family business was passed on to Matt Jr. who, to this day, owns and operates Arciulo's Shoe Store and Footstar in downtown Milford. Footstar caters to runners and specialty shoes. Runners can have their feet scanned by a computer and shoes custom fit to their feet. Matt Jr. was happy to support the Walnut Beach 5K because of the family's strong tie to this area and to three generations in a business that has become a Milford institution. We are honored to be their sponsor.
